Braggadocious Trump is a misogynist whose confession of sexual violations upon women is not a surprise. He has groomed society by normalising deviant behaviour. Despite this chequered past, he has had $2 billion of free media coverage which cemented his political position. Trump supporters insist his behaviour is normal while others accept the bigotry for a racist/anti-establishment political trade-off. Trump’s poisonous rhetoric is anaesthetising humanity and may irreparably damage the boundaries of American decency.
“Treat them like sh**.” New York Magazine 1992
Trump said that you should treat women like “sh**” and he appears to suit his action to his words. His former wife Ivana’s 1990’s deposition stated that Trump had “raped” her. The incident outlined in the “Lost Tycoon” said that he held back Ivana’s arms and began to pull out fistfuls of hair from her scalp. However, Trump’s lawyers had Ivana define the rape in the book as mental and emotional.
Then Jill Harth brought a lawsuit saying that Trump sexually assaulted her. Jill stands by the claim although she withdrew the lawsuit. In June 2016, Jane Doe filed a lawsuit alleging that Trump tied her hands to a headboard and raped her in 1994 when she was 13 years old.
Trump has even bragged about habitually visiting the dressing rooms of his pageant shows unannounced [Stern Show June 2005]. He admitted that contestants were “Standing there with no clothes.” His shows included teen pageants. So when Trump said “When you are a star you can do whatever” (sentiments shared by the likes of Jimmy Savile) he meant it!
Trump’s Sh** Treatment Applies To All Females
Trump has attacked powerful women with impunity; he called Rosie O’Donnell, “Fat…[and] ugly.” He also remarked “Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man.” His current campaign slogan is “Trump That Bitch.” His supporters wear that tee-shirt and “I wish Hillary had married OJ” with pride!
Not even Trump’s daughter is free from his degrading treatment; he told Howard Stern that “It’s okay to call my daughter ‘A piece of ass’.” Trump has made many inappropriate comments about her including, “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, I’d be dating her,”[The View 2006] and “If I weren’t married, and, ya know, her father…”[Rolling Stone 2015]. Trump said when speaking to Wendy Williams, that the thing he most had in common with his daughter was sex.
Nobody Is Exempt From Trump “Sh**” Treatment
Trump has continually discriminated against black people. He refused to let homes to blacks until the US Department of Justice sued him and Trump’s Black employees were hidden from him when he visited his casinos [1980’s]. Trump also chose to spend $85,000 for newspaper adverts to bring back the death penalty in response to the arrest of black and Latino teens in the infamous Central Park Jogger attack. He was furious when the five settled a civil case for $41m in 2014 and said the payout was the “heist of the century”.
Trump has continued in that hateful vein during his political campaign. So he has labelled all Mexicans “rapists,” called Judge Curiel of Mexican heritage “unfit” and wants to ban all Muslims from entering America. He has also promised a return to “The good ol’ days of racism, to jail Hilary Clinton and has mocked the disabled.
Trump’s immoral conduct has no boundaries. He boasts about not paying his federal taxes. They have been unpaid for almost twenty years. Meanwhile, his business partners, contractors, clients, employees and banks, have sued him 3500 times. It was usually, for non-payment.
However, 60 million people still intend to vote for Trump. They accept his excuse that his degrading statement about women was “locker room” banter. Except he was not in a locker room nor a teenager. He was 59 years old and recently married for the third time. Nonetheless, Trump’s comments appeal to his audience and his party.
America has racism so deeply ingrained that the election of a black President has opened a chasm. So, Trump supporters will compromise decency, decorum and female dignity, in exchange for unfettered racism and to strike a blow at the establishment. Republicans want to win so much that they accept Trump debasing American politics.
Trump’s deviant behaviour makes a long list and the only way manage it is to cut the list down. So compared to talking about women’s P****, building a wall to keep Mexicans out pales into significance. Trump has pushed back the boundaries of decency at a cost to humanity, and like the genie out of the bottle, it may never go back.
